The Diplomatic Business Club is a public organization that unites employees of the diplomatic corps – employees of Embassies and Consulates accredited in Latvia, representatives of the Latvian business community, prominent figures in the field of science and culture, as well as representatives of state and municipal authorities.
Diplomatic business Club has been operating since 2004. Initially, the Club began to function as an informal association of employees of various diplomatic and consular missions operating in Latvia. Somewhat later they were joined by representatives of the business community, Latvian entrepreneurs and businessmen. In 2019, a rebranding was carried out.
Currently, the Club has about 200 participants from 40 countries.
The purpose of the Club’s activities is to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between representatives of different countries, develop economic and cultural ties, position Latvia in the international arena as an open and reliable partner, assist foreign diplomats in interacting with colleagues from the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the business community, and representatives of government authorities and the media, organizing informal communication among members of the diplomatic corps.
Club objectives:
Assistance in establishing constructive, mutually beneficial relations between Latvian and foreign Embassies and Consulates, as well as representatives of international organizations and businesses;
Organizing a platform for discussing current issues of interaction in the development of international relations, business and culture;
Creation of strong professional and friendly contacts between Club members for business and cultural communication between Club members
The club uses various forms and methods of work: organizes round tables, conferences, meetings with experts in various fields, cultural evenings, and also holds various meetings, including video conferences, on the current international agenda. As experts and honored guests, the Club invites heads of Embassies, Consulates, heads of large international and Latvian companies and famous public and political figures.
The International Club of Diplomats and Businessmen is a platform for establishing friendly informal contacts, strengthening partnerships between representatives of the diplomatic corps and the business community, for exchanging opinions and implementing initiatives aimed at strengthening international ties and international cooperation.
The main activity of the club is the organization of thematic events with the participation of representatives of the diplomatic corps and business circles. We hold business meetings, seminars, conferences, theme evenings, cultural and business events. Meetings and theme evenings are held in the center of Riga, Grande Palace Hotel, with the participation of senior staff of diplomatic services and representatives of leading sectors of Latvian business. The International Club of Diplomats and Businessmen brings together diplomats, embassy employees, entrepreneurs, scientists and other persons operating in the field of international relations, diplomacy, business and science. DBC is a platform for establishing contacts and developing cooperation, where representatives of the diplomatic corps, employees of embassies and consulates, employees of foreign and international organizations, scientists and entrepreneurs exchange information in the field of international relations, science, economics, financial systems and business through participation in multilateral and bilateral meetings, seminars, presentations, theme evenings, etc.
